Erin McCarthy has done it again. In the third book of the True Believers series the story continues with the cousin of Tyler and Riley.

Phoenix grew up in a similar way to his cousins. His mother wasn't attentive or very caring. As a child he learned to deal with his own demons. Now, he has just come out of prison and has to stay with his cousins. Here he meets Robin. Quiet and closed off, Robin seems broken and being broken himself, Phoenix can understand her and see that she is hiding some demons of her own.

Robin made a huge mistake over the summer and now she has to deal with the consequences of it. To prevent anything else from happening she cuts herself from alcohol and partying. She avoids her friends but it becomes difficult and she finally has to face the music. Then she meets Phoenix, bad boy, artist and possibly the only other person around who feels the same as she does.

Robin and Phoenix's story was so cute and heartbreaking at the same time. Erin McCarthy has created a world where even in a world full of darkness caused by a person's past, there is always light when there is someone to share it with.

My only issue with this story was that it felt too short but that is always a good complaint.
